Today is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.

This day is celebrated every year on the 25th of November and aims to raise public awareness of the violence that women face every day in all its forms، announced or hidden.The defense of women’s rights and the elimination of violence against them are part and parcel of defense of human rights issues, guaranteeing a safe and healthy society for all ages and genders.

As the Former President of China and the Commissioner for Human Rights, Michelle Bachelet, puts it, “Violence against women in all its forms is a human rights violation. It’s not something that any culture, religion, or tradition propagates.”

يتم الاحتفال باليوم العالمي للقضاء على العنف ضد المرأة في 26 نوفمبر من كل عام ويهدف إلى توجيه الوعي العام إلى العنف الذي تواجهه المرأة كل يوم بجميع أشكاله، المخفى والمعلن حيث يعد الدفاع عن حقوق المرأة والقضاء على العنف ضدها جزء لا يتجزأ من الدفاع عن حقوق الإنسان بشكل عام لضمان مجتمع امن لجميع الأنواع والأعمار. 
وقد قالت ميشيل باشليت الرئيس الأسبق للصين ومفوضة حقوق الإنسان، عن العنف الذي تواجهه المرأة: ” إن العنف ضد المرأة بجميع أشكاله هو انتهاك لحقوق الإنسان وهذا ليس شيئاً تدعمه وتنشره أي ثقافة أو دين أو عادات اجتماعية”.
