This day is dedicated to honoring the millions of lives shattered by the horrific transatlantic slave trade and celebrating the resilience of those who fought for freedom. On this day, the world should remember the countless victims of the slave trade, reflect on the lasting impact of slavery on societies worldwide, commit to building a future free from discrimination and inequality, and support initiatives that promote education, awareness, and reparations.

يصادف يوم 23 أغسطس اليوم العالمي لإحياء ذكرى القضاء على العبودية. يعتبر هذا اليوم تكريمًا لملايين الأرواح التي حطمتها تجارة الرقيق عبر المحيط الأطلسي وأيضًا للاحتفال بصمود الأبطال الذين ناضلوا من أجل الحرية. في هذا اليوم، ينبغي للعالم أن يتذكر العدد الذي لا يحصى من ضحايا تجارة الرقيق، وأن يفكر في التأثير الدائم للعبودية على المجتمعات في جميع أنحاء العالم، وأن يلتزم ببناء مستقبل خال من التمييز وعدم المساواة، ويدعم المبادرات التي تعزز التعليم وزيادة الوعي.
